    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Access “Settings
    3. Scroll to “Device
    4. Tap “Battery
    5. Tap “Menu” and turn “Battery saver” On

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity options when unused – including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, Bluetooth, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Location”, “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” toggles to disable the features
    3. Go to “Settings
    4. Access “Location” and tap “Mode” > “Battery saving
    5. To disable Hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
    6. Then tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

    NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “More
    3. Tap “Mobile networks
    4. Access “Preferred network type” and enable “2G

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. For additional options, open “Settings
    4. Then scroll to “Device” and tap “Display
    5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness
    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes and thus they can potentially affect battery life even when not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps
    3. In the drop-down menu at the top, select “All apps
    4. Select the desired app
    5. To turn the app OFF, tap “Force stop” / “Disable
    6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall

    NOTE: Another way to remove an app is to open the apps drawer and drag & drop the app’s shortcut over the “Uninstall” option at the top of the screen.

    Check for OS Updates:

    NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, and thus it's recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for OS updates:

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone
    3. Tap “System updates” and check if a new update is available for download
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply the update. NOTE: the update process will require at least
