    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “System” and tap “Battery”
    3. Enable “Battery saving mode”
    4. Tap “Start power saving”

Turn OFF Unused Connectivity Features and Use 2G Networks:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features when not in use (including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth) you can improve battery life in the long run. Additionally, if you run low on battery and don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “Connections”
    3. Disable the available connectivity options
    4. Tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and turn Hotspot OFF
    5. To use 2G networks, return to “Settings” and go to “Connections”
    6. Then tap “More connection settings” > “Mobile networks”
    7. Tap “Network mode” > “GSM Only”

Lower The Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    3. Optionally, turn “Automatic brightness” ON or OFF
    4. To decrease screen brightness, drag the slider towards the left side of the screen
    5. For timeout options, return to “Display” and tap “Screen timeout”, then select a lower value

    Minimize Third Party Application Usage:

NOTE: Some third party applications can perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from your phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
    3. Tap “Application manager”
    4. Access “Downloaded” and select the desired application
    5. Tap “Force Stop” / “Disable” to turn the app OFF
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

    Disable Background Data:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Under “Connections”, tap “Data usage”
    3. Tap “More” > “Restrict background data”
    4. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By reducing the amount of data synced with your accounts/apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts” and select an account type
    4. Select an account and clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to disable
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements. Thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “System”
    3. Tap “About device” and check if a new update is available
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply any available updates. NOTE: the update process will require to reboot your phone
