    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Options:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity options when not in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Go to “Settings” for more options
    4. Tap “Location” for GPS options
    5. Then tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    6. To disable Hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the switch OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Under “Wireless & Networks”, tap “More”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Go to “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display” and enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. Thus, by disabling or removing unused third party apps usage, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Make sure “All Apps” is selected in the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Select the desired app
    5. To turn the app OFF, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

NOTE: A different method to remove an app is to access the apps drawer, and drag & drop the app’s shortcut over the “Uninstall” section at the top. The option is available only when dragging an app shortcut.

    Change Settings to Reduce Sync:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account and disable the desired sync settings

Keep the OS Up to Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life, and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Access “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update(s). NOTE: the process will require at least one reboot
