    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Battery”
    3. Tap “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Turn Unused Connectivity Options OFF:

    NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity options when are not in use, such as Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to turn the features OFF
    3. Open “Settings” for additional options
    4. Tap “Location” (GPS) > “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. To turn Hotspot Off, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot”
    7. Set the Hotspot switch OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

    NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G network.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life when not actively in use. By turning Off or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    2. Tap “Apps” and ensure “All Apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    3. Tap the desired application
    4. To disable the app, tap “Force stop” / “Disable”
    5. To remove an app, tap “Uninstall”

    NOTE: You can also remove an app by dragging the app’s shortcut from the apps drawer and dropping it over the “Uninstall” section at the top.

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account
    5. Disable the desired sync options

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen
    3. Next, open “Settings”
    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” On or Off
    6. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value

    Keep the OS Updated:

    NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements, so it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Go to “System updates”
    4. Check if new updates are available. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply available update(s). NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot
