    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Drag the “Brightness” slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display” and optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. Tap “Sleep” for timeout options and select a lower value

    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Location (GPS), and Bluetooth, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings” and access “Location” (GPS)
    4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. For hotspot options, go back to “Settings”
    6. Then tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Lastly tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the switch OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

    NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Accessed “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G” to confirm

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Certain third party applications perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Ensure “All Apps” is selected from the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” to disable it
    5. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the lo9ng run.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts”
    4. Select the desired account
    5. Change the accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync

    Keep the OS Updated:

    NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if new udpates are available:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply available updates (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
