    Turn Battery Saving Mode On:

    1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phone’s battery performance even when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Ensure “All Apps” is selected in the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop”
    5. Tap “Uninstall” to remove the app

NOTE: Another method for removing an app is to open the apps drawer and then drag & drop the app’s shortcut over the “Uninstall” section at the top (visible only when dragging app shortcuts)

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts” and select an account
    4. Disable the desired sync options for the selected account to reduce sync

    Disable Unused Connectivity Options:

NOTE: By turning Off the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use, such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
    3. For more options go to “Settings”
    4. Tap “Location” > “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. To disable Hotspot, go back to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot”
    7. Set the switch OFF

    Use 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery life and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Access “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down using two fingers
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease screen luminosity
    3. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life so it’s recommended to keep the software up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if new updates are available and if applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update(s). NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot
