    Back Up App Data:

    1. Open the apps drawer and launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “Cloud and accounts”
    3. Tap “Backup & restore”
    4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your Google backup account
    5. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data, passwords and settings to be restored when reinstalling apps or signing in with the backup account

    Back Up Contacts:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Tap “Cloud and accounts”
    4. Go to “Accounts”
    5. Select the account you want to use for contact syncing
    6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

    Back Up Contacts to SD Card:

    1. Launch “Contacts”
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
    3. If necessary, tap “Contacts to display” and select “All Contacts”
    4. Tap “Import / Export contacts” > “Export to SD card”
    5. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Back Up Media Files on the Phone Storage:

    1. Open “My Files”
    2. Tap “Internal storage”
    3. Tap “Menu” > “Share”
    4. Select the contact you want to back up
    5. Tap “Share” again and select the desired backup location

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the media files on the phone storage
    5. Copy and paste the files in the desired backup location on the PC
    6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Back Up Media Files on a Mac Computer:

    NOTE: In case Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps below.

    1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Visit Samsung Kies
    3. Click “Download for Mac” and install Kies on the Mac
    4. Connect the Samsung phone to your Mac via USB
    5. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the “Notification” area on the phone
    6. Open Kies on the Mac and access “Back up / restore”
    7. Go to the “Backup” tab
    8. Tick the check boxes associated with “Photos”, “Music” and other types of media files you want to back up
    9. Click “Backup” to start the process
    10. After the backup is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the “Trash can” to eject it
    11. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
