    Clear App Cache / Data:

NOTE: If one of your applications doesn’t work as intended or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache and data.

WARNING! Clearing an app’s data will result in the deletion of all personal information stored within the app, such as credit card and login information, profiles, high scores, saved games etc. As such, in order to avoid losing personal data, clear only the app’s cache.

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Access “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Applications”
    4. Tap “Application manager”
    5. Go to “Downloaded” or “All” and select the desired app
    6. Tap “Clear cache”
    7. If clearing the cache didn’t solve the problems, you can tap “Clear data” > “OK”

Reboot in Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: If you have installed a third party application that causes problems on your device and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app from within Safe Mode. In this mode, all third party apps are disabled.

    1. Turn off the device
    2. Next, press and hold “Power”
    3. At the “Samsung” logo, release the “Power” button and quickly press and hold “Volume down” instead
    4. Wait for the phone to reboot, and once done, it should display a “Safe Mode” label in the lower- left corner of the screen (release the “Volume” key once the phone restarts)
    5. To start removing the app, go to “Settings”
    6. Next, scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
    7. Tap “Application manager” and swipe to “Downloaded”
    8. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” twice to confirm
    9. To exit safe mode, press and hold “Power” and tap “Restart”

    Clear Phone Cache Partition:

NOTE: In case your phone doesn’t work as intended, crashes, freezes etc. you can try fixing these problems by clearing the phone’s cache partition. Doing so can have similar results as a factory reset, without losing any of your personal data. To clear the cache partition:

    1. First, turn off the phone
    2. Next, press and hold “Power”, “Home” and “Volume Up” at the same time
    3. After the phone turns on and shows the “Android” logo, release the buttons
    4. Wait for the phone to go in Recovery
    5. From the Recovery menu, press “Volume down” repeatedly to highlight “wipe cache partition”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. After the cache is wiped, “Reboot system now” will be highlighted
    8. Press “Power” to restart your device

NOTE: If wiping the cache didn’t help, you can visit this thread to learn how you can master reset the device instead.
