    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By changing your phone’s connectivity features including Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) quick toggles to disable these features
    3. Next open “Settings” for more options
    4. Tap “Location” > “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and disable the feature

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Preferred networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen to decrease luminosity
    3. Next open “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display” and optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. For screen timeout settings, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts” and select the desired account
    4. Change the available sync settings to reduce sync

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party applications perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. If necessary, switch to “All apps” from the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Select the desired app
    5. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” to confirm

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life, and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if new updates are available:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates” and check if a new update is available for download
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update. NOTE: the process will require at least one reboot
