    3. Launch “Settings”
    4. Scroll to “Device”
    5. Tap “Display”
    6. Enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    7. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower screen timeout value such as “15 seconds”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features when unused, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Wi-Fi” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Next open “Settings”
    4. Tap “Location” for additional GPS options
    5. Then tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    6. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the feature Off

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account and change the desired sync options

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps” and go to “All Apps”
    4. Select the desired application
    5. To disable the app, tap “Force stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates include improvements to battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for new updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Verify if a new update is available for download. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update. NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot
