    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Preferred network” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Launch “Settings”
    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or Off
    6. For timeout settings, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select the desired account
    4. Change the available sync options to reduce sync

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps”
    4. If necessary, switch to “All apps”
    5. Select the desired app
    6. To disable the app, tap “Force stop” / “Disable”
    7. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Verify if a new update is available. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update. NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot
