    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when unused, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the status bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) quick-toggles to turn the features Off
    3. Open “Settings” and go to “Location” for additional GPS options
    4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and turn the feature Off

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

    NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Select “2G”

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the status bar down on the home screen
    2. Drag the “Brightness” slider towards the left to decrease brightness
    3. Next go to “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display” and optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Make sure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Select the desired application
    5. Tap “Force Stop” / “Disable” to stop the app or
    6. Tap “Uninstall” to remove the app

    Reduce Sync:

    NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you may improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select the desired account type and account
    4. Change the available sync options to reduce sync

    Keep the OS Updated:

    NOTE: OS Updates can include improvements to battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates” and check if a new update is available
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update. NOTE: this process will require at least one reboot
