    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not in use – including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS – you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Location” and “Wi-Fi” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings” and access “Location” for additional GPS options
    4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the feature Off

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: if your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Access “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen swipe the “Status” bar down
    2. From the quick toggle area, drag the “Brightness” slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display” and enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value such as “15 seconds”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account and change the available settings to reduce sync

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates” and check if new updates are available for download
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update. NOTE: The update process will require at least one reboot
