    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Battery” under “Device”
    3. Tap “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use – including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS – you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the status bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Location”, “Wi-Fi” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Tap “Location” for more GPS options
    5. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    6. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot”
    8. Set the feature Off

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Go to “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the status bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Tap “Display” under “Device”
    5. Enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    6. Tap “Sleep”
    7. Select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts or apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Accounts” under “Personal”
    3. Select an account type
    4. Tap the account whose sync settings you want to change

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps”
    4. Select “All apps” form the drop-down menu
    5. Tap “Force Stop” to disable the application
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and as such, it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available and if applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply updates (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot to complete)
