Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open “Settings”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features and Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not in use, such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run. In addition, if your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Contacts”
    3. Select to disable the available connectivity options
    4. Next, tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and disable the option
    5. To use 2G networks, open “Connections”

    3. Tap “More” > “Restrict background data”
    4. Tap “OK” to confirm

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the phone, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Applications” > “Application manager”
    4. Access “Downloaded”
    5. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    6. Alternatively, to remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “Accounts” under “Personal”
    3. Select an account type
    4. Tap the desired account and clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to turn off
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Certain software updates include improvements to battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “System” and tap “About device”
    3. Follow the on-screen steps to download and install available updates
