Back Up & Restore App Data:

1. Open “Settings”
2. Scroll to “Personal”
3. Tap “Backup & reset”
4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, passwords, and settings to your account
5. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data, passwords, and settings to be automatically restored when you sign in with your backup account

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

1. Launch “Settings”
2. Scroll to and tap “Accounts”
3. Select an account type
4. Select the account you want to use for contact backup
5. Enable “Contacts” and tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

NOTE: Contacts backed up in this manner can be automatically restored the next time you sign in with your backup account.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
4. Locate and copy the media files on the phone storage
5. Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
4. Locate the media file backups on the computer
5. Copy and transfer the media backup files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect it from the USB port
