    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Access “Battery” and tap “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the status bar down on the home screen
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Launch “Settings”
    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower screen timeout value

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use – such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth – you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the status bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” (GPS) and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings” and tap “Location” for more GPS options
    4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the feature Off

    Switch to 2G Network Temporarily:

    NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Go to “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Select “All apps” from the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Select the desired application
    5. To turn the app off, tap “Disable” / “Force Stop”
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: By changing your accounts’ settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Under “Personal”, tap “Accounts”
    3. Select the desired account
    4. Change the account’s settings to reduce sync

    Keep the OS Updated:

    NOTE: OS updates include improvements to battery life and as such, it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To verify if new updates are available:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new updates are available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply available updates (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
