    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Turn “Battery saver” ON

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use, such as Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. For GPS options, go to “Location” > “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. To disable Hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Access “Mobile networks”
    4. Go to “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps can perform regular background processes that can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Select “All apps” from the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired application
    5. To turn the app OFF, tap “Force Stop”
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by changing your accounts’ settings to reduce sync.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type and the desired account
    4. Turn the desired sync options OFF to reduce sync

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and as such it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for new updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll down to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
