    4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
    5. Turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout duration

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not in use, such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Location”, “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings” and access “Location” for additional GPS options

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can improve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes and this can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Apps” under “Device”
    3. Go to “All apps”
    4. Select the desired app
    5. Tap “Disable” / “Force stop” to disable the app
    6. To remove the app from the device, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync in order to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Go to “Accounts”
    4. Select the desired account
    5. Change the desired settings to reduce sync

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and as such it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
