    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Battery”
    3. Press “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    6. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value like “15 seconds”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS, in order to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Go to “Location” for GPS options, tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and set the feature OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

    NOTE: In case your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Access “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect battery life when not actively in use. As such you can disable or remove unused third party apps from the device to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Ensure “All apps” is selected
    4. Tap the desired application
    5. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop”
    6. To remove the app from the device, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: You can change your accounts’ sync settings to reduce the amount of data synced by your accounts in order to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts” and select an account type
    4. Tap an account and change the available settings to reduce sync

    Keep the OS Updated:

    NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and as such it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
