    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Go to “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use – including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS – you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Launch “Settings”
    4. Go to “Location” for additional GPS options and tap “Mode”
    5. Enable “Battery saving”
    6. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the status bar down
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
    3. For additional options, launch “Settings”
    4. Tap “Display” under “Device”
    5. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
    6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value such as “15 seconds”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type and the desired account
    4. Change the available settings to reduce sync

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps” and select “All apps” from the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Select the desired app
    5. To turn the app off, tap “Force stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app from the device, tap “Uninstall”

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings’
    2. Go to “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates” and check if new updates are available for download
    4. If available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply updates (NOTE: the update process will require at least on reboot)
