    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    2. Tap “Battery”
    3. Press “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not in use – such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth – to avoid unnecessary network scans and improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Tap the “Location”, “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings” and access “Location” for GPS options
    4. Next tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. Go back to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Disable “Tethering & portable hotspot”

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: In case your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Access “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
    3. For more options, launch “Settings”
    4. Tap “Display” under “Device”
    5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    6. Tap “Sleep” for timeout duration and select a lower value

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect battery life even when they are not actively in us. As such you can disable or remove unused third-party apps to try and improve battery life.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Ensure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu at the top
    4. Select the desired application
    5. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop”
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts settings to reduce the amount of data synced by the device, you may improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “Accounts” under “Personal”
    3. Select an account type
    4. Select the desired account to change its sync settings

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check if new updates are available:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available and if applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update (NOTE: the process will require at least one reboot)
