    Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease brightness
    3. Next go to “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display” and enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: By disabling unused connectivity features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Location, Hotspot, you can avoid unnecessary network scans and improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Wi-Fi” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Access “Location” for GPS options, tap “Mode” and enable “Battery Saving”
    5. Return to “Settings” for additional options
    6. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Disable “Tethering & portable hotspot”

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

    NOTE: In case your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Access “Mobile networks”
    4. Go to “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third party apps, you may improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Make sure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired application
    5. Tap “Force Stop” to disable the app
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: by changing your accounts’ settings to reduce sync you may improve battery life in the ling run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “Accounts” under “Personal”
    3. Select an account type
    4. Tap the desired account
    5. Change the desired settings to reduce sync

    Keep the OS Updated:

    NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update (NOTE: the process will require at least one reboot)
