    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Battery”
    3. Tap “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not in use to avoid unnecessary network scan and conserve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen using two fingers
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. For more options, launch “Settings”
    4. Go to “Location” and tap “Mode” then enable “Battery saving”
    5. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Go to “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Launch “Settings” and go to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
    6. Tap “Sleep” for timeout options and select a lower value

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps from the device, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps” and ensure “All apps” is selected from the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired application
    5. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Reduce Sync:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select the account you want to use for contact syncing
    4. Change the account’s settings to reduce sync

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: Software updates include battery life improvements and as such it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if new updates are available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update (NOTE: the process will require at least one reboot)
