    Back Up App Data:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “Cloud and accounts”
    3. Tap “Backup & restore”
    4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
    5. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored when reinstalling apps or signing in with the backup account

    Back Up Contacts:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Go to “Accounts” and tap “Cloud and accounts”
    4. Select the account you want to use for contact syncing
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

    Back Up Contacts to SD Card:

    1. Launch “Contacts”
    2. Tap “Menu”
    3. Go to “Settings”
    4. If necessary, tap “Contacts to display” and select “All contacts”
    5. Tap “Import/Export contacts”
    6. Tap “Export to SD card” > “OK”

    Back Up Media Files on the Phone Storage:

    1. Open “My Files”
    2. Tap “internal storage” > “Menu” > Share”
    3. Select the contacts you want to back up
    4. Tap “Share” again and select the method of contact backup

    Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung phone to the computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the media files on the phone storage
    5. Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the computer
    6. Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device form the USB cord

    Back Up Media Files on a Mac:

    NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 3 steps:

    1. Open the Internet browser on the Mac
    2. Head down to https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/kies
    3. Click “Download for Mac” and install Kies
    4. Then connect the Samsung device to the Mac via USB
    5. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” when prompted or from the Notification area
    6. Open Kies on the Mac and access “Back up / restore”
    7. Go to the “Backup” tab
    8. Tick the boxes associated with “Photos”, “Music” and other types of files you want to back up
    9. Click “Backup” to start the process
    10. Once done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it over the “Trash can” to eject it
    11. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
