    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Scroll to “Device”
    5. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
    6. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not in use, such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, to avoid unnecessary network scans and improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. Go back to “Settings”
    6. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and disable the feature

    Use 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: In case your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Access “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when they are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Apps”
    4. Make sure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    5. Tap the desired application
    6. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    7. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Settings to Reduce Sync:

NOTE: You can change the settings of your account(s) to reduce sync and conserve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Accounts” under “Personal”
    3. Select the desired account
    4. Change the available settings to reduce sync

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates” and check if a new update is available for download
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to apply the update (NOTE: this will require at least one reboot)
