Back Up & Restore App Data:

1. Open “Settings”
2. Scroll to “Personal”
3. Tap “Backup & reset”
4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your backup account
5. Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be automatically restored the next time you sign in with the backup account

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

1. Launch “Contacts”
2. Select “All contacts”
3. Tap an account type and the account you want to use for syncing the contacts
4. Tick the “Contacts” check box
5. When ready, tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts can be restored the next time you sign in with the backup account or by manually syncing them with the phone.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
4. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
5. Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a PC:

1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
4. Locate the media file backups on the PC
5. Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
6. Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the UB port
