    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Launch “Settings”
    4. Scroll to “Device”
    5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    6. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features OFF when they are not actively in use – including Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth – in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features OFF
    3. Launch “Settings”
    4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. Return to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and turn the feature OFF

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & networks”
    3. Go to “Mobile networks”
    4. Access “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps from the device you can improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Tap “Apps’ under “Device”
    3. Ensure “All apps” is selected from the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired application
    5. To disable the app, tap “Force stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts”
    4. Select the desired account
    5. Change the available settings to reduce sync

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life and as such it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to apply the update (NOTE: this will require at least one reboot)
