    3. Tap “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use – such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS, to avoid unnecessary network scans and improve battery life.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) quick toggles to turn these options OFF
    3. Open “Settings” for additional options
    4. Go to “Location” and tap “Mode” to enable “Battery saving”
    5. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Disable “Tethering & mobile hotspot”

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Access “Mobile networks”
    4. Go to “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

    Reduce Sync:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your account(s) to sync less data less often you may improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Accounts” under “Personal”
    3. Select an account type and account
    4. Change the available settings to reduce sync

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when not actively in use. As such, you can improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third-party apps.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
    3. Make sure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    4. Select the desired app
    5. To turn the app off, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Verify if a new update is available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install available updates (the update process will require at least one reboot)
