    Enable Battery Saving:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “Device”
    3. Go to “Battery” and tap “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Display” and drag the brightness slider towards the left
    3. Optionally, you can enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    4. For timeout settings, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

    Turn the Connectivity Features OFF:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features off when not actively in use – including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS – to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. From the quick toggle area, tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” (GPS) and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn these features off
    3. Next open “Settings” and go to “Location” for more settings
    4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks” for hotspot options
    6. Disable “Tethering & portable hotspot”

    Temporarily Switch to 2G:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve the device’s battery until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Access “Mobile networks”
    4. Go to “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

    Minimize Sync:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Access “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type and an account
    4. Change the available settings as desired in order to reduce sync

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. Thus you can remove or disable unused third-party apps from the device in order to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Apps”
    3. Make sure “All apps” is selected
    4. Tap the app you want to remove or turn off
    5. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can include improvements to battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Access “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update (the update process will require you to reboot the device at least once)
