Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Launch “Settings” and go to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display”
    5. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
    6. For timeout options, go to “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use, such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Next open “Settings”
    4. Go to “Location”, tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. For hotspot settings, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & Portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Turn “2G” ON

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when not actively in use. You can disable or remove these unused third-party apps to try and improve battery life.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Apps”
    3. Select “All apps” if necessary
    4. Tap the desired application
    5. Tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings” > “Accounts”
    2. Select an account type and the desired account
    3. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if new updates are available and if applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update (the process will require you to reboot the device at least once)
