    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Access “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. From the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
    3. Open “Settings” for additional options
    4. Go to “Display” and enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to disable these features
    3. Open “Settings” for more options
    4. Go to “Location” and tap “Mode”
    5. Enable “Battery saving”
    6. Return to “Settings” for hotspot options and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Reduce Sync:

NOTE: You may be able to improve battery life by lowering the amount of data synced by your accounts and apps.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type and the desired account
    4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps from the phone, you may improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Access “Apps”
    3. Make sure “All apps” is selected in the drop-down menu
    4. To disable an app, tap “Disable” / “Force Stop”
    5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for new updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “About phone”
    3. Access “System updates”
    4. Check if new updates are available. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and install the update (NOTE: the process will require at least one reboot)
