Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Go to “Device”
    5. Tap “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
    6. For timeout options, go to “Sleep” and select a lower value

    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu”
    5. Enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features OFF when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features off
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Go to “Location” for more GPS options
    5. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saver”
    6. For hotspot options, go back to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot’
    8. Turn the feature OFF

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps from the phone, you may be able to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Apps”
    3. Access “All apps” if necessary and select the desired app
    4. Tap “Force Stop” or “Disable” to turn the app off, or:
    5. Tap “Uninstall” to remove the app from the device

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Go to “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if new updates are available and if applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update (the process will require you to reboot the device at least once)
