    Clear an App’s Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your apps doesn’t work as intended or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try to solve these issues by clearing the app’s cache or data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored within the app, including user profiles, login information, high scores, etc. will be deleted. To avoid losing this data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Go to “Apps
    3. Select the desired app
    4. Go to “Storage
    5. Tap “Clear cache
    6. If clearing the cache didn’t solve the issues, try “Clear data” (check the Warning above)

    Reset the Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your device crashes, freezes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try fixing these problems by clearing the cache partition. This can have results similar to a factory reset, without losing personal data from the device.

    1. Turn the phone Off
    2. Press and hold “Home” and “Volume Up” at the same time
    3. Then press and hold “Power” as well
    4. At the Android screen, release the buttons and wait for access to Android Recovery
    5. Navigate the Recovery menu by pressing “volume down” repeatedly and highlight “Wipe data/factory reset
    6. Press “power” to select the highlighted option
    7. Highlight “Wipe cache partition” and press “power
    8. Highlight “Yes” to confirm and press “Power
    9. After the cache is wiped, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can visit this thread for instructions on how to factory reset the device instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Uninstall an App:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to uninstall the app in Safe Mode, where all third-party apps are disabled by deafau.t

    1. Turn the phone off if necessary
    2. Next, press and hold “Power
    3. At the “Samsung” screen, release “Power” and quickly press and hold “Volume down” instead
    4. Once the phone finished rebooting, a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower area of the screen. After the phone reboots, release all the buttons
    5. To uninstall an app, first access “Settings
    6. Go to “Apps” and select the desired app
    7. Tap “Uninstall” to confirm
    8. Once done, exit Safe Mode by rebooting the phone as you would normally do
