    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Launch “Settings”
    4. Go to “Device”
    5. Tap “Display”
    6. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    7. For timeout options tap “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features OFF when not actively in use in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) quick toggles to turn these features Off
    3. Next open “Settings”
    4. Go to “Location” for more GPS options, tap “mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. Go back to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & mobile hotspot” and turn the feature Off

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Go to “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when they are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps from the phone you can potentially improve battery life.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Apps”
    3. Ensure you view “All apps”
    4. Select the desired application
    5. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Change Account Settings to Reduce Sync:

NOTE: You may be able to improve battery life in the long run by lowering the amount of data synced by your accounts and apps.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “personal” and tap “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type and account
    4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Verify if a new update is available
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply the update (the update process will require you to reboot the phone at least once)
