    No matter you want to Restore Contacts or Media Files from Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus (2018), what you need is a Samsung data recovery software. With its help, you can easily access contacts and media files and get them back.

    NOTE: Check this thread for instructions on how to back up data on the Samsung device.

    Restore Contacts from an SD Card Backup:

    1. Launch “Contacts”
    2. Tap “menu” > “Settings”
    3. If necessary, tap “Contacts to display” and select “All contacts”
    4. Tap “Import/Export contacts” > “Import from SD Card”
    5. Press “OK” to confirm

    Restore Media Files from SD Card:

    1. Open “My Files”
    2. Tap “SD Card”
    3. Go to “Menu” > “Edit” and tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
    4. Tao “Menu” > “Move” > “Internal storage”
    5. Press “Move here”
    6. Select the desired folder

    Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the media file backups on the computer storage
    5. Copy and paste the backup files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder(s) of origin
    6. After the transfer completes, safely disconnect the device from the USB port

    Restore Media Files from a Mac:

    1. Connect the Samsung phone to the computer via USB
    2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
    3. Launch Kies on the Mac and go to “Back up / restore”
    4. Access the “Restore” tab
    5. Tick the boxes associated with “Music”, “Photos” and other media file types you want to restore
    6. Click “Restore” and follow the prompts to complete the process
    7. Once done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it over the “trash can”
    8. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
