    To Restore Data, Contacts, and Media Files from Samsung Galaxy A5, no doubt that the easy way is using pro Samsung Data Recovery software. With its help, you can easily access data, contacts and media files on it.

    NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up data on the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017).

    Restore Contacts from the SD Card:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “Settings”
    3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Applications”
    4. Tap “Contacts” > “Import / Export contacts”
    5. Select “Import” > “SD Card”
    6. Choose to import a single or multiple vCard files
    7. If necessary, select the vCard file you want to restore
    8. Choose to restore contacts on “Device storage” or to sync them with “Google”

    Restore Contacts from a Google Account:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to “User and Backup”
    3. Tap “Accounts” > “Google”
    4. Select the email address or user name at the top
    5. Make sure “Contacts” is checked
    6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

    Restore Media Files from a SD Card:

    1. Open the apps drawer
    2. Launch “My Files”
    3. Scroll to “Local storage”
    4. Tap “SD card” > “More” > “Edit”
    5. Tick the boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
    6. Tap “More” > “Move”
    7. Select “Device storage”
    8. Navigate to and select the target folder, or tap “Create folder”
    9. Tap “Move here”

    Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:

    1. Establish a USB connection between the Samsung device and computer
    2. Turn On “Media device” / “File Transfer” from the “Notification” area or at the prompt
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate and copy the media file backups on the computer
    5. Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder, or the directory they originate from
    6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

    Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

    1. Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Launch Kies on the Mac and go to “Back up / restore”
    4. Go to the “Restore” tab
    5. Tick the boxes associated with “Photos”, “Music” and other media file types you want to restore. Alternatively, tap “Select all”
    6. Click “Restore” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process
    7. After the process is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “Trash can”
    8. You can safely disconnect the device from the USB port
