    Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If one of your apps crashes, freezes, or otherwise doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache/data.

WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including save files, user profiles, credit card and login information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Applications’
    3. Ta “Application manager”
    4. Go to “Downloaded” or “All”
    5. Select the desired app
    6. Tap “Clear cache”
    7. If clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK” (check WARNING above)

    Wipe the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try to fix these issues by clearing the cache partition. This can have results similar to a factory reset without losing any personal data from the phone storage.

    1. Turn the phone off if necessary
    2. Press and hold “Power” “Home” and “Volume Up” simultaneously
    3. At the Samsung screen release “Power”
    4. Release “Home” and “Volume Up” at the Android screen
    5. Once in Android Recovery, press “Volume down” repeatedly to highlight “wipe cache partition”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. After the process is done, ensure “Reboot system now” and press “Power”

NOTE: If clearing the cache partition didn’t help, you can check this thread for instructions on how to factory reset the phone.

Reboot to Safe Mode to Uninstall an App:

NOTE: If one of your third-party apps causes problems and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode. In this mode, all third-party apps are disabled by default.

    1. Turn the phone off if necessary
    2. Press and hold “Power”
    3. At the “Samsung” logo, release “Power” and immediately press and hold “Volume down” instead
    4. Wait for the phone to reboot and once done, release the key. A “Safe Mode” watermark should be shown in the lower area of the home screen
    5. To remove an app, open “Settings” and go to “Device”
    6. Tap “Application”
    7. Go to “Application manager” > “Downloaded”
    8. Select the desired app
    9. Tap “Uninstall”
    10. Once done, you can exit Safe Mode by rebooting your phone
