    5. For timeout options tap “Sleep” and select a lower value

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings” and go to “Location”
    4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and turn the feature Off

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile network”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type
    4. Tap the desired account and change the available sync options to reduce sync as desired

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You can disable or remove unused third-party apps to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Apps” and switch to “All apps”
    3. Select the desired app
    4. To disable the app, tap “Disable” / “Force Stop”
    5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for OS updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “About phone” > “System updates”
    3. Verify if a new update is available for download
    4. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply the update (NOTE: the process will require at least one reboot)
