Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Drag the brightens slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings” and access “Display”
    4. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
    5. For timeout options tap “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” > “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Launch “Settings”
    4. Go to “Location” and tap “Mode”
    5. Then enable “Battery saving”
    6. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    7. Tap “Tethering & Portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Access “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type” and enable “2G”

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery even when the apps are not actively in use. By removing or disabling unused third-party apps from the phone you may be able to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Go to “Settings” > “Apps”
    2. Access “All apps”
    3. Select the desired app
    4. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You might be able to improve battery life in the long run by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type
    4. Tap the desired account
    5. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if new updates are available and if applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply updates (the update process will require at least one reboot)
