Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left in the quick toggle area
    3. For additional options open “Settings”
    4. Go to “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
    5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS, to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
    3. Open “Settings” for more options

    5. For hotspot options, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Turn “Tethering & mobile hotspot” Off

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Access “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes and this can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You can disable or remove unused third-party apps to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Apps” and switch to “All apps” or “Downloaded”
    3. Select the desired app
    4. Tap “Force Stop” / “Disable” to turn the app off
    5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type
    4. Tap the desired account
    5. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

    Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update
