WARNING! When you factory reset your device, all your personal data located on the phone will be deleted, such as ringtones and other media files, applications and downloaded content, contacts etc. Settings will be restored to factory values but data stored on the SIM and SD storage won’t be affected.

NOTE: You can visit this thread for a guide on how to back up app data, and this thread for instructions on how to restore data on the device.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Phone Management” and tap “Backup & Reset”
    3. Tick or clear the check boxes linked with “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore”
    4. Tap “Backup account”
    5. Select the desired account
    6. Tap “Factory data reset” and optionally, select to “Erase SD card” as well
    7. Tap “Reset phone” and if your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your password/PIN to proceed
    8. Tap “Delete all” > “Reset”

    Factory Reset via Android Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes or otherwise prevents you from resetting it using the method above, alternatively you can reset the device from Android Recovery.

    1. Make sure the phone is powered Off
    2. Press and hold “Volume down” and “Power” at the same time
    3. At the LG screen, quickly release and re-press “Power”
    4. At the “Factory data reset” screen, release the keys
    5. Use “volume down” to navigate the menu and highlight “Yes”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. At the “Erase all user data and restore default settings” screen, use the volume rocker to highlight “Yes”
    8. Press “Power” one last time to confirm
