    2. Go to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Access “Display” and optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. For timeout settings tap “Sleep’ and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run. This includes Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth connections.

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” (GPS) and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
    3. Go back to “Settings” and access “Location” for GPS options
    4. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. Return to “Settings” and tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & Portable hotspot” and turn the feature off

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “mobile networks” > “preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You can remove or disable unused third-party apps to potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “Apps” > “All apps’
    3. Select the desired app
    4. To turn the app off, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    5. To remove the app from the phone tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access “Accounts” and tap an account type
    3. Select the desired account
    4. Change the available sync settings as needed

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to install the update (note that the update process will require to reboot the phone at least once)
