    Clear App Cache/Data:

    NOTE: If an application freezes, crashes, takes up too much storage or otherwise doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache/data.

    WARNING! When you clear an app’s data, all your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including user profiles, settings, save files, login and payment information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app’s cache.

    1. Launch “Settings” and go to “Apps
    2. Select the desired app
    3. Tap “Storage” > “Clear data” > “OK
    4. If clearing the app data didn’t solve the issues, tap “Clear cache” (check the WARNING above)

    Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

    NOTE: If your device freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try fixing these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have results similar to a factory reset without losing personal data from the phone storage.

    1. Turn the phone Off
    2. Press and hold “Power” “Volume Up” and the “Home”/”Bixby” button simultaneously
    3. At the Android log, release the keys and wait for the Recovery menu
    4. Once there, navigate the menu by pressing “volume down” repeatedly
    5. Highlight “Wipe cache partition” and press “Power” to select the option
    6. Then highlight “Yes” using “Volume Up” and press “Power” again
    7. Once done, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power” one last time

    NOTE: if clearing the cache partition didn’t solve the problems, you can check this thread for a guide on factory resetting the phone instead.

    Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

    NOTE: If one of your third-party apps causes problems and prevents you from uninstalling it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode, where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

    1. Turn the phone Off
    2. Then press and hold “Power
    3. At the “Samsung” logo, release “Power” and immediately press and hold “Volume down” instead
    4. Release the buttons after the phone finishes rebooting. Note that a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
    5. To remove an app, open “Settings
    6. Then go to “Apps” and select the desired app
    7. Tap “Uninstall” two times to confirm and remove the app
    8. After the process completes, reboot the device normally to exit Safe Mode
