    Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If an app crashes, freezes, takes up too much storage or otherwise doesn’t work as intended, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app’s cache/data.

WARNING! By clearing the app’s data, all your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including save files, settings, user profiles, login information etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear only the app’s cache.

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Go to “Apps
    3. Select the desired app
    4. Tap “Storage” > “Clear data
    5. Tap “OK
    6. If clearing the app data didn’t fix the problems, tap “Clear cache

    Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, runs out of storage inexplicably or otherwise doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering a factory reset, alternatively you can try solving these issues by clearing the phone’s cache partition. This can have results similar to a factory reset without losing personal data from the phone.

    1. Turn the phone Off
    2. Press and hold “Power” “Volume Up” and the “Bixby”/”Home” keys at the same time
    3. At the Android screen, release the buttons and wait for access to Recovery
    4. In Recovery, navigate the menu by pressing “Volume down” repeatedly
    5. Highlight “Wipe cache partition
    6. Press “Power” to select the option
    7. Then highlight “Yes” and press “Power” again
    8. Once done, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power” one last time to complete the process

NOTE: If clearing the phone’s cache partition didn’t solve the problems, you can check this thread fir instructions on how to factory reset the phone instead.

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

NOTE: If a third-party app causes problems and prevents you from removing it from the device, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode, where all third-party apps are disabled by default.

    1. Turn the phone Off
    2. Next, press and hold “Power
    3. At the “Samsung” logo, release “Power” and immediately press and hold “Volume down” instead
    4. Release the keys once the device finishes rebooting. Note that a “Safe Mode” watermark should be visible in the lower area of the home screen
    5. To remove an app, launch “Settings” and go to “Apps
    6. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” two times to confirm
    7. Once done, reboot the phone normally to exit Safe Mode
