    Lower the Screen Brightness for Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
    3. Launch “Settings” and go to “Device”
    4. Tap “Display” and optionally, enable / disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. Tap “Sleep” for timeout duration
    6. Select a lower value like “15 seconds”

    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

    NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Bluetooth” and “Location” (GPS) quick toggles to disable the features
    3. Open “Settings” for more optins
    4. Go to “Location” (GPS) tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Disable “Tethering & portable hotspot”

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

    NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Under “Wireless & Networks” ta “More”
    3. Access “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

    NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes and this can potentially affect battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. However you can disable or remove unused third-party apps from the phone to potentially improve battery life.

    1. Go to “Settings”
    2. Tap “Apps” and switch to “All apps” if necessary
    3. Select the desired app and tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    4. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

    Change Sync Settings:

    NOTE: You can reduce the amount of data synced by your accounts to potentially improve battery life.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access “Personal”
    3. Go to “Accounts”
    4. Select an account type and the desired account
    5. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

    Keep the OS Updated:

    NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if updates are available:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “About phone” > “System updates”
    3. Check if new updates are available
    4. If applicable, follow the prompts to download and install the update. Keep in mind that the update process will require to reboot the phone at least once
