Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen swipe the Status bar down
    2. In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
    3. Launch “Settings”
    4. Go to “Display”
    5. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    6. For timeout settings, access “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Go to “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
    4. Enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Bluetooth” “Location” quick toggles and disable the features
    3. Open “Settings”
    4. Go to “Location”
    5. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
    6. Go back to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & networks”
    7. Disable “Tethering & mobile hotspot”

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “more” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Go to “Mobile networks”
    4. Tap “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type and the desired account
    4. Change the available settings to reduce sync

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the device’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You might improve battery life in the long run by removing or disabling unused third-party apps.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “Apps” and switch to “All apps” or “Downloaded”
    3. Select the desired app
    4. To turn the app off, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    5. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and as such it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates’
    4. Check if new updates are available
    5. If so, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update
