Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
    3. Open “Settings” for more options
    4. Go to “Display” where, optionally, you can enable or disable “Adaptive brightness
    5. For timeout options, access “Sleep” and select a lower timeout value like “15 seconds

    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “Device” > “Battery
    3. Tap “Menu
    4. Enable “Battery saver

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use, such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Location” > “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” quick toggles to turn the features Off
    3. Open “Settings
    4. Go to “Location” for GPS options
    5. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving
    6. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
    7. Turn “Tethering & Mobile hotspot” Off

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
    3. Access “Mobile networks
    4. Go to “Preferred network type” and enable “2G

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “Accounts
    3. Select an account type
    4. Tap the desired account
    5. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the handset’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps you can potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings
    2. Access “Apps
    3. Switch to “All apps” or “Downloaded
    4. Select the desired app and tap “Disable” / “Force Stop
    5. To remove an app, tap “Uninstall

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.

    1. Launch “Settings
    2. Go to “About phone
    3. Tap “System updates” and check if new updates are available
    4. If so, follow the prompts to download and apply the update(s)
