WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, personal data located on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted, including ringtones, media files, apps, contacts, downloads etc. Additionally all settings will be restored to factory values but data located on the SIM and SD cards won’t be affected.

NOTE: Before you reset the device, you can check this thread for instructions on how to back up data, and this thread for a guide on restoring data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Phone Management” and tap “Backup & Reset”
    3. Clear or tick the boxes associated with “Automatic restore” and “Back up my data”
    4. Tap “Backup account” and select the desired account
    5. Tap “Factory data reset”
    6. Optionally, select whether to “Erase SD card” too
    7. If your device is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password to proceed
    8. Tap “Delete all” > “Reset”

    Factory Reset via Android Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone crashes, freezes, or otherwise prevents you from resetting it via Settings, you can try resetting the phone from Android Recovery.

    1. First turn the phone Off
    2. Press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
    3. At the LG screen, release and quickly press “Power”
    4. Release the buttons at the “Factory data reset” screen
    5. Press “Volume down” repeatedly to navigate the menu and highlight “Yes”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. At the “Erase all user data and restore default settings” prompt, highlight “Yes” and press “Power”
