WARNING! When you factory reset your device, all of your personal data stored on the device’s internal memory will be deleted, including media files, contacts, ringtones, downloads etc. In addition, settings will be restored to factory values but data located on the SIM card and external storage won’t be affected.

NOTE: Before you reset the device, you can check this thread for instructions on how to back up data, and this thread for restoring data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “Phone Management” > “Backup & Reset”
    3. Tick or clear the check boxes associated with “Automatic Restore” and “Back up my data”
    4. Tap “Backup account” and select the desired account
    5. When ready, tap “Factory data reset” and optionally you can choose to “Erase SD Card” as well
    6. In case your phone has a lock screen set up, enter your PIN/password and tap “Continue”
    7. When ready, tap “Delete all” > “Reset”

    Factory Reset via Android Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone freezes, crashes, or otherwise prevents you from resetting it via settings, alternatively you can try resetting the device using hardware buttons.

    1. Turn the phone Off
    2. Press and hold “Power” and “Volume down” at the same time
    3. At the LG screen, release and quickly press “Power”
    4. At the “Factory data reset” screen release the keys
    5. To navigate the menu, press “Volume down” and highlight “Yes”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. When prompted to “Erase all user data and restore defaults” highlight “Yes” and press “Power”
